Caribbean Music Festival Schedule For 2022

Next year's Caribbean Region Music festival season is off to a promising start, with many organizers planning for 2022 as an opportunity to reboot their events. As countries around the world reopen this year after the pandemic, music festivals are on the rise again and music festivals in the Caribbean Region are no expectation! Ticket organizations are eager to bring live music back to the public and the Caribbean as a whole. Last year's pandemic cancellations and the introduction of the COVID-19 vaccine have led to the return of major live music events.

Many of the largest festivals in the US, such as Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Tomorrow’s Latitude Festival, and Outside Lands, have returned for summer and autumn events while others have announced dates for 2022 such as Coachella. But those arnt’t the only music festival that will be in full effect come January 2022.

JANUARY

JAMAICA JAZZ AND BLUES FESTIVAL

The Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival, formerly known as the Air Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival, was created to encourage visitors to come to Jamaica during a traditionally slow tourism period for the island.

REBEL SALUTE

Rebel Salute is an annual music festival held in Jamaica. It is held on January 15 of every year, the birthday of promoter Tony Rebel. It is one of Jamaica's biggest music festivals, known for its focus on roots and conscious music. Rebel began the festival in 1994 in the parish of Manchester and was long held annually in St. Elizabeth on the country's south coast until 2012.

TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO CARNIVAL

Trinidad and Tobago

Known as one of the greatest shows on Earth, the Trinidad Carnival is a cultural event celebrating the freedom and emancipation of African slaves on the island. The Trinidad and Tobago Carnival is one of the biggest festivals in the world and also one of the most desired destinations in the world. Costumes, parades, and healthy competition are all part of the celebration’s grandeur. Musical performances focus on Soca music and the biggest musical competition is the battle to be named Calypso Monarch; the title comes with an approximately $1 million prize and endorsements. It’s said that when the residents are celebrating the Carnival, they’re preparing for it.

SXM FESTIVAL

The musical curation at SXM Festival is house and techno music. The event lineup typically features 80+ deejays from all over the world to include superstars and up-and-coming artists. The music is just one part of the performance. SXM is known for its “Deco team” comprised of creative recuperative artists who design jaw-dropping sets that transport festival-goers to another world. The Deco team and SXM are known for their focus on sustainability and reducing their impact on the Earth and the island. Materials used for set design are 90% recycled and the festival implements various initiatives to reduce paper and plastic and even facilitates a beach clean-up day with festival-goers.

Saint Lucia Roots & Soul Festival

A festival dedicated to musicians who are setting new trends in reggae, conscious hip-hop, Afropunk, and R&B, with performances, master classes, and encounters between artists and other actors in the music business.
