The Cayman Islands might just have the hottest gastronomic scene in the Caribbean. The tropical weather and the positive vibes abound, but don’t miss out on the food.

The Cayman Islands food is amazing, from stewed beef to jerk chicken, from conch stew to whole fried fish. The colorful dishes match the vibrancy of the islands and the warmth of our people.

Small eateries and street food stalls are reason enough to visit the Cayman Islands, but we aim high. A series of world-class events have called the attention of international media, and here’s all you need to know about them.

Street Food Festival

This September, Georgetown hosted 24 exceptional cooks that displayed street food from all around the world. Peruvian ceviche, Mexican tacos, Japanese gyoza, oysters, American burgers, local conch fritters and Korean chicken wings are only a few of the delightful treats prepared for the festival.

Seven hours of fun, proper food and refreshing drinks guarantee an astounding success, and as this event gains traction, we’ll see it grow in size and international acclaim.

Who doesn’t love street food? And how to miss an opportunity to travel the world with just your senses? Choose your excuse, from New York-Style pizza to Hawaiian Poke; you just can’t miss it.

Cayman Cookout

Street food is great, but fine-dining experiences are transcendental. The Cayman Islands invite you to a world-class event: The Cayman Cookout, hosted by the Michelin-starred Chef Éric Ripert, from NYC, and taking place in the spectacular Ritz-Carlton Resort, this is a weekend of a lifetime.

Dominique Crenn, Emeril Lagasse, Daniel Boulud and many other star chefs will join Chef Ripert in a run of events designed to wow your senses. Mingling with the chefs while tasting their dishes is a food lover’s dream.

The next Cookout will take place between the 15th and the 20th of January 2020. A wine fair and auction, a barefoot BBQ and plenty of after-parties, will have you going nonstop. If you love food, this is the experience you were waiting for. Tickets are now on sales and can be bought here.

Taste of Cayman

Save the date, April 4, 2020. Local products and matching drinks are what Taste of Cayman is all about. At the Festival Green, Camana Bay, street food and gourmet dishes, ice cream and cocktails, the festival offers a treat for everyone.

The food fest has been taking place for 32 years, and 2020 expects 5000 visitors and the involvement of over 45 local restaurants. Competitions, raffles and music all in the same place, revolving around the most important thing: GOOD FOOD!
